A devastating bus accident occurred on Friday, August 22, on Interstate 90 near Pembroke, New York, approximately 64 kilometers east of Niagara Falls. The bus, traveling towards New York City, overturned, resulting in multiple fatalities, including children. First responders are continuing rescue efforts as of late Friday evening.
According to reports from New York State Police, witnesses observed the bus losing control, veering into the median, crossing into the southbound shoulder, and ultimately overturning. State Police spokesperson James O’Callaghan stated that some passengers were trapped within the wreckage,while others were ejected during the impact.

A passenger manifest provided by the bus company indicates that 52 individuals were on board, including the driver, who is reported to be alive and cooperating with authorities. Many of the passengers are believed to be of Indian, Chinese, and Filipino descent.Authorities have noted that a significant number of passengers were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, possibly exacerbating the severity of the injuries.
