Braunias,who lived alone in the seaside town of Kawhia,was discovered unconscious on Monday morning outside his home,a former Bank of New Zealand building he purchased in 1996. A builder passing by alerted authorities, and Braunias was airlifted to Waikato Hospital.
Born in Tauranga in 1955, braunias displayed a passion for art from a young age. He honed his skills at Mt Maunganui collage, where he famously spent months meticulously recreating a Breughel painting on both his VW Kombi van and the wall of his family’s sleep-out.
