Sen. Cory Booker has described conditions inside Delaney Hall as “a house of horrors,” echoing concerns raised by other local officials. Reports have surfaced regarding inadequate meals and overcrowding.
Rosalinda Ortega, whose husband Miguel is detained at delaney Hall, said he has lost over 20 pounds in the past month. “He said it hurts to lay in the beds they gave him because he’s so skinny now, they’re not feeding them,” Ortega said. ”Yesterday I called, they said stop calling and be patient. How can I be patient when they have him and are mistreating him?”
