Adrian Newey ⁤Returns to F1 Full-Time with⁣ Aston Martin

Renowned Formula 1 engineer Adrian Newey⁤ is ⁤set to return to​ the sport full-time, joining Aston Martin as⁤ a​ technical‍ management partner ⁢and shareholder.

Commitment to Success

Newey, 65, has been instrumental ‍in Red Bull’s recent dominance​ in ‍F1. Although he hasn’t ⁢worked full-time in the sport in ‍recent years, he’s ⁤now committed to leading ‍Aston Martin to success.

Aston Martin team owner Lawrence Stroll expressed his confidence in Newey, ‍stating, “He will be a leader as ⁢a technology partner, as a leader of the technology team and within the company as a partner and ⁤shareholder. I⁢ will‌ leave it to him to set up the structure.”

A New Chapter for Newey

Newey himself confirmed his full-time role,⁣ saying, “I will be fully involved. I need‍ to be, ‌I have to be. I want to‍ be ‌at the centre of everything, ‌I want to⁢ be in the⁣ thick of it. ​The team ‍move will change the way everyone works.”

Newey​ also clarified that he was​ involved in other ⁤projects, including the Valkyrie⁢ hypercar ⁤at Red Bull. However, he denied⁢ reports that his F1 schedule was⁢ limited⁤ to three days ⁣a week.

A New​ Challenge for Aston Martin

Newey expressed his enthusiasm for the new challenge, saying, “We are a very mature team now and after going through⁤ the big rule changes​ in ⁤2022, we were able‍ to step back and look at the evolution in 2023 and 2024. Because it is an evolution in 2022. But this is⁤ different, it is a ​new challenge.”

He added, “It’s a new challenge and I’ll do whatever it takes ‌for the ​team.”
