Francis Ngannou Eyes Boxing Return in 2025
Cameroonian Fighter Seeks to Combine MMA and Boxing Careers
Francis Ngannou, the renowned MMA champion from Cameroon, has expressed his desire to return to boxing in 2025. Despite suffering losses in his two previous boxing matches, Ngannou remains committed to pursuing a career that combines both MMA and boxing.
Ngannou’s boxing debut saw him face off against notable opponents, including Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. Although he lost both matches, he views these experiences as invaluable learning opportunities. “It was a feat I had never done. I had no experience, no understanding of the game… I learned a lot from it. I’m not done with boxing, I plan to go back,” Ngannou stated in an interview with AFP.
Currently training in Paris, the 38-year-old fighter is preparing for his upcoming return to the Professional Fighters League (PFL) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He is set to face Brazilian heavyweight champion Renan Ferreira in a highly anticipated match.
Ngannou emphasized that his involvement in boxing was merely a temporary break from his MMA career. “I never left MMA, so there is no way back. For a return, there must be a departure. I just do another sport in the meantime… I’m often asked if I do MMA or boxing, I always say it’s a combination of both, and that remains true,” he explained.
Ngannou’s Career Path
Ngannou’s decision to pursue both MMA and boxing reflects his desire to challenge himself and explore different disciplines. With his sights set on a 2025 boxing return, fans can expect to see the Cameroonian fighter continue to make waves in the world of combat sports.
