Nicolás Cabré on Family, Grief & Life in Carlos Paz | Exclusive Interview

Carlos Paz, Argentina is currently serving as a creative hub for Nicolás Cabré, who is deeply involved in the comedy production Ni media palabra at the Teatro Holiday. Alongside his wife, Rocío Pardo, who co-created the show, Cabré also directs and stars alongside Mariano Martínez and “el Bicho” Gómez. The actor recently spoke about his close-knit circle of friends, his recent family loss, and the joy of his growing family.

Cabré emphasized the enduring nature of his friendships, stating, “My friends are the same as always: the guys from the neighborhood, my brother Duilio and not many more. Those are my friends. After that, I have people I care about a lot and who you can count on, but the reality is that when the curtain comes down, you laugh for a while and then you go home. My friends have always been the same and I’ve always said it. Luckily, they’re still the same from all my life.”

He shared that many of his friends visited him in Carlos Paz in December for his wedding. “They all came in December for the wedding, so we were all here. They stayed for a week and a half, and then everyone has their work, their vacations, their things,” he explained.

The conversation turned to the recent passing of his mother, which occurred approximately four months ago. “She had her things, but it wasn’t serious. She was 73 years old and she passed away. That’s life,” Cabré said with a sense of acceptance. He noted that his wife, Rocío, had the opportunity to meet his mother before her passing. “Now, only my brother remains in the family, who has a daughter named Isabella, and me. My aunt and cousins also came to see me.”

Cabré’s daughter, Rufina, shares a similar age with his niece, Isabella. “No, they are the same age. They are only a month apart. They get along very well, they are very close,” he shared, highlighting the bond between the two young girls.

His December wedding to Rocío Pardo was a deeply emotional experience for Cabré. He recalled the overwhelming joy of the occasion and the poignant absence of his parents. “It was a dream moment, a beautiful wedding,” he said. During the ceremony, he became visibly moved when Rocío walked down the aisle.

As reported by journalist Nico Peralta, Cabré described the moment as incredibly emotional. “Yes, yes, yes. That moment when she arrived was very emotional. Having Rufi by my side even more so. Since my mother wasn’t there, Rufi was the one by my side. And well, the absence of my mom and dad was also a very emotional moment. I remembered them throughout and they were somehow always there. I am happy and I am someone who gets emotional. We lived very nice moments when the ceremony took place and suddenly turning around and seeing that everyone who was there made a huge effort, because coming from Buenos Aires to Carlos Paz was quite a move. It was a dream.”

The actor acknowledged his tendency to become emotional during significant life events. He expressed gratitude for the support of those who traveled to Carlos Paz for the wedding, recognizing the effort involved in making the journey from Buenos Aires.

Cabré’s reflections offer a glimpse into his personal life amidst his professional commitments, revealing a man grounded in family and cherished friendships, navigating both joy and grief with a quiet strength.
