Tunis, Tunisia - Egyptian powerhouse Pyramids FC received a boost ahead of their crucial African Champions League clash against Tunisia’s Esperance Sportive de Tunis. Nigerian forward siddique Ighola joined the team’s training camp in Tunis, despite not being included in the initial Champions league squad.
The Pyramids coaching staff, led by Croatian tactician Krunslav Jurcic, opted to bring Ighola to tunisia to maintain his fitness and prepare him for upcoming domestic league and cup matches, and also potential later-stage Champions League fixtures.
Joining Ighola in the Tunisian camp are goalkeepers Ahmed El-Shenawi and Ibrahim Adel. The duo missed Pyramids’ previous Champions League encounter against Malian side Joliba AC due to illness and remained in Cairo for rest and treatment.
Now fully recovered, El-Shenawi and Adel joined the team in Tunis and are expected to participate in training sessions leading up to the highly anticipated match against Esperance.
Pyramids FC will host Esperance at the rades Stadium next Saturday at 9 p.m. local time in a crucial Group D encounter.
