Emeka was equally impressed. “Wow, that’s a huge increase from September. I remember seeing something about a dip then. What caused this surge?”
“Hard to say for sure,” Aisha replied, “but it likely has to do with the overall growth in internet subscribers.Nigeria added almost 2 million new users in October alone, bringing the total to over 134 million!”
Emeka pondered the implications. “That’s amazing! Any idea what’s driving this growth?”
“Mobile networks are definately the main force,” Aisha explained. “They account for over 134 million subscribers. MTN led the pack, adding over a million new users in October.Airtel was close behind, and Globacom also saw growth. Even 9mobile, which has been struggling, managed to add new subscribers.”
“So, it seems like everyone’s getting connected,” Emeka observed. “I bet this is having a huge impact on various aspects of Nigerian life – from education to business.”
“Absolutely,” Aisha agreed. “We’re seeing a real digital transformation happening in Nigeria. It’s exciting to think about the possibilities this opens up.”
