Melissa Rauch is officially saying goodbye to NBC’s “Night Court” after the network canceled the comedy series. Rauch, who played a central role in the show’s revival, shared an emotional message on Instagram Wednesday, expressing her gratitude for the experience.
Despite efforts to find a new home for “Night Court,” Rauch confirmed that the show would not continue. She thanked the cast, crew, and fans for their support, reminiscing about the surreal experience of working on a recreation of the original set.

Rauch recalled the words of Reinhold Weege, the creator of the original “night Court,” who emphasized the importance of the courtroom doors in ushering in endless stories. She expressed hope that the revival carried on that tradition.
The actress also shared a behind-the-scenes video montage of her time on “Night Court.”
“I have held off on posting anything about Night Court not continuing until I knew we did everything in our power to find another home for it,” rauch wrote. “Perhaps it was being raised on The Goonies ‘never Say Die’ motto or straight up denial that I didn’t want this incredibly special experience to come to an end.Having mentioned that, after turning over all the stones there were to be turned over, we’ve learned that it is indeed officially the hour to say ‘farewell.’ Or at least ‘Until next time.'”
Kunal Nayyar, Rauch’s former “The Big Bang Theory” costar, and Raegan revord of “Young Sheldon,” both of whom guest-starred on “Night Court,” shared messages of support in the comments section of Rauch’s post.
The cancellation of “Night Court” came shortly after the Season 3 finale, which ended on a cliffhanger involving Abby Stone’s (Rauch) husband and boyfriend.
