Brandon Christensen, who also produced and co-wrote the screenplay with Ryan Christensen, has spoken about his intention to evoke the atmosphere of seminal horror films like Ti West’s “House of the Devil” and the 1979 suspense thriller ”When A Stranger Calls.” Christensen also personally oversaw the film’s visual effects, building on his previous work in the genre with titles like “Still/Born,” “Z,” and “The Puppetman.”
