Nike Air Max New Releases: Pink Denim and Ultramarine Styles

Nike has expanded its Air Max 90 lineup with the release of a lifestyle-focused colorway titled Pink Denim, designed to move the silhouette away from its traditional sporty aesthetics toward a more dressed-up appearance for the spring season.

The Air Max 90 Pink Denim (style code IR1975-663) became available on Nike.com in women’s sizing on April 1, 2026, with a retail price of $145 USD.

Design and Material Composition

The new iteration focuses on material changes to alter the atmosphere of the familiar silhouette. The upper utilizes mesh for coverage and ribbed synthetic panels for structure, while denim-inspired overlays provide a distinct visual shift.

To avoid a flat appearance, Nike layered several hues of pink across the footwear. Specifically, the shoe features a bleach effect on washed-out denim panels around the mudguard and quarter, which creates a worn-in feel from the moment of purchase.

The official color palette for the pair is listed as Pink Foam, Pearl Pink, White, and Pinksicle. The Pinksicle shade is utilized for high-contrast accents, including the glossy pink patent leather Swoosh on the side panels, the tongue branding, the eyestays, and the Air cassette on the heel.

The design is completed with a white foam midsole, ensuring the overall look remains a pink-dominant affair while maintaining the textured accents associated with a 1990s-inspired aesthetic.

The Pink Denim release is part of a broader string of colorways for the 1990 sneaker, which includes styles such as White Croc, Neon, and Reflective Infrared.

Beyond the denim aesthetic, Nike is also utilizing the Air Max 90 to reference other historic models within the brand’s archive. As part of an extended 35th anniversary celebration, a new Air Max 90 is arriving in April 2026 that adopts the colors and materials of the 1991 Air Max 180.

This upcoming release faithfully duplicates the Ultramarine colorway of the original Air 180, a model previously noted for its 180-degree Air unit which provided more cushioning than its predecessors.

This practice of applying iconic colorways from one model to another—such as the Neon Air Max 95 palette previously applied to the Air Max 90 and Air Max Plus—remains a frequent retro footwear trope for Nike Sportswear.
