nikki Bella’s recent appearance on “WWE Raw” to promote WWE evolution included a shout-out to several prominent female wrestlers. Though, the WWE Hall of Famer stumbled over the pronunciation of Stephanie Vaquer’s name, a mistake she later addressed.
Bella highlighted established stars such as Rhea Ripley, Bianca belair, and IYO SKY, along with rising talents like Roxanne Perez, Giulia, and Stephanie Vaquer. It was Vaquer’s name that proved tricky, leading to an on-air mispronunciation.
On ”The Nikki & Brie Show,” Bella explained the difficulty she had with Vaquer’s name. Despite practicing and receiving guidance from Vaquer herself, Bella found herself second-guessing her pronunciation in the moment.
“Even though it’s only a few people that have said stuff, I can’t tell you how many times I went over Stephanie Vaquer’s — I feel like I am still saying it wrong — last name,” Bella said.”I even was asking her, but she says that, of course, in a stunning Latina accent. When I would repeat it after her, she’s like ‘Perfect.’ I was saying it amazing, but then you get in your head.”
Bella elaborated on her concerns about focusing too much on one name, fearing it would disrupt the flow of the promo. She sought advice from others, attempting to balance a correct pronunciation with a touch of flair.
While Stephanie Vaquer didn’t appear on “Raw,” she had a busy weekend, participating in a tag team match on “WWE SmackDown,” and competing at both WWE x AAA Worlds Collide and Money in the Bank.At Money in the Bank, Naomi ultimately won the Women’s MITB ladder match.
what’s next
