Berlin’s historic Nikolaikirche will host a multi-month presentation of the sound installation “Chorus” alongside seasonal exhibition programming starting October 2, 2026, and running through April 18, 2027, according to scheduling details released by the Stiftung Stadtmuseum Berlin.
Nikolaikirche Exhibition Schedule and Hours
The Nikolaikirche venue will maintain regular viewing hours from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily, including holidays, with an extended evening window on Thursdays from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Operating hours are split between Monday through Wednesday and Friday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Thursday from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A scheduled closure for exhibition renovation will take place beginning Monday, September 14, 2026, continuing through October 1, 2026. Additional holiday closures and modified hours apply to the winter schedule. The church will remain closed on Christmas Eve on December 24, 2026, and on New Year’s Eve on December 31, 2026. Visitors can access the venue on Christmas Day and Boxing Day—December 25 and December 26, 2026—between 12:00 PM and 18:00 PM, as well as on New Year’s Day on January 1, 2027, during the same afternoon hours.
Sound Installation Chorus Performance Times
The “Chorus” sound installation features specific daily listening windows that separate full acoustic playback from modified morning and evening sessions. The complete sound installation runs Monday through Wednesday from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Thursday from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Friday from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A modified version of the installation plays without the Nikolaikirche carillon during Thursday evening slots and weekend mornings. Weekend sessions on Saturdays and Sundays run from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. All visitors must adhere to the official visitor regulations established by the Stiftung Stadtmuseum Berlin.
