The Ninh Binh Provincial People’s Committee released a comprehensive administrative reorganization plan that will merge multiple specialized medical facilities across Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, and Ha Nam provinces. According to the Ninh Binh Provincial People’s Committee, the structural overhaul maintains 30 public service health units in the province, comprising 23 hospitals and seven centers, to eliminate administrative duplication and concentrate resources.
Hospital Mergers Across Three Provinces
The reorganization plan consolidates numerous specialized hospitals that previously operated independently across the former provinces of Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, and Ha Nam. Under the new directive, the traditional medicine hospitals from all three former jurisdictions will merge into the Ninh Binh Provincial Traditional Medicine Hospital.
The eye hospitals from the three areas are merging into the Ninh Binh Provincial Eye Hospital, while the psychiatric hospitals are uniting under the Ninh Binh Provincial Psychiatric Hospital.
Additional consolidation affects Nam Dinh facilities specifically.
Facility Closures and Facility Transfers
The Thanh Nam General Hospital is slated for reorganization into the Ninh Binh Provincial Geriatric Hospital. That specific transition will occur only after the facility meets all necessary infrastructure requirements and receives approval from competent authorities.
For primary healthcare, the province intends to maintain the existing 129 local health facilities managed by commune and ward People’s Committees. While the region undergoes these sweeping medical infrastructure changes, tourism destinations such as the ancient capital of Hoa Lu, the Tam Coc and Trang An boat docks, and the Bai Dinh Temple complex continue operating across the landscape, as detailed by vietnam.travel.
Administrative Deadlines and Implementation Schedules
Provincial officials stated that the structural changes aim to decrease administrative units, eliminate overlapping duties, and boost operational efficiency. The newly organized apparatus must begin operating immediately without disrupting workflow, leaving task vacancies, or affecting public life.
Relevant departments and units must finalize and submit their operational restructuring and dissolution plans to the Ninh Binh Provincial People’s Committee via the Ministry of the Interior by October 15.
