About the Venue
Daiichi Life Aigoen Tennis Court was opened in 2022 and is a full-scale red clay court supervised by FFT and produced by JTA. During the clay court season, the national team also uses it as a training base.
Background to the Tournament
The reason this tournament is being held in Asia is that while there are many top professional players from Europe and North America, there are relatively few players from Asia. The ATP, WTA and ITF, which govern professional tennis, want to produce more Asian players.
Player Selection Method
The top six ITF-ranked players (men and women) from Asia will automatically qualify to play in the Roland Garros Junior Series by Renault in Tokyo.
Japan will be given four men and four women as the host nation, while four men and four women will qualify for the Tokyo Games from the qualifying tournaments in Kazakhstan and China.
Comment from Tournament Ambassador Kei Nishikori
“I am happy to be able to promote tennis in the Asian region. I would like to thank Roland Garros and the FFT for hosting this tournament in Japan to further the development of tennis in the Asian region. I can’t wait for the tournament.”
Tournament Director’s Comments
“After two years of holding tournaments in South America, it is wonderful that we have now been able to bring the Roland Garros Junior Series to Asia. We want to create an opportunity for the junior players to have a valuable experience, with the feeling that we are bringing Roland Garros to Tokyo.”

Kimiko Date, who is ranked 4th in the world, will be the presenter at the awards ceremony to be held on Sunday, October 20th, and will offer words of encouragement to the winning junior athletes.
