Construction on the New Jersey Turnpike
Construction on the New Jersey Turnpike – Western Spur northbound is causing delays between south of Interchange 15E – US 1&9 (Newark) and north of Interchange 15W – I-280 (Kearny). This work, which began on Monday, December 15th, 2025 and continued through Tuesday, December 16th, 2025, involves the closure of two left lanes of four lanes between 9:00 PM and 5:00 AM each night.
Additional construction is impacting the Outer Roadway southbound. Line striping and barrier repairs are taking place between north of Interchange 14 – I-78/US 1&9 (Newark) and Interchange 6 – Pennsylvania Turnpike (Mansfield Twp) from December 15th, 2025, through December 16th, 2025, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM. All lanes are closed southbound during this time.
Further southbound closures are reported on the Outer Roadway at the Entrance ramp Interchange 10 – NJ 440/I-287 (Edison Twp) to Interchange 10 – NJ 440/I-287 (Edison Twp) from December 15th, 2025, through December 16th, 2025, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM. All lanes are closed southbound.
Barrier repairs and milling are also underway on the Outer Roadway southbound Entrance ramp Interchange 13 – I-278/Goethals Bridge (Linden) to Interchange 13 – I-278/Goethals Bridge (Linden) from December 15th, 2025, through Thursday, December 18th, 2025, Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM. All lanes are closed southbound.
Construction and deck work are also affecting the Inner Roadway northbound between the Inner and Outer Roadway Merge (Mansfield Twp) and north of Interchange 14 – I-78/US 1&9 (Newark) from December 15th, 2025, through December 16th, 2025, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM. All lanes are closed.
