The “No Kings” protests aimed to highlight concerns over governmental overreach.
In Bastrop, Texas, Mary Elizabeth Singleton, the event’s organizer, emphasized the presence of dissenting voices even in traditionally conservative areas. “We just want people to know that even in a bright red county like Bastrop, we have people who are concerned about what Trump… is doing, and we don’t believe in kings in the United States of America,” Singleton said.

Oklahoma City saw thousands assemble for one of Oklahoma’s “No Kings” demonstrations. The event at Oklahoma City Hall featured speakers and music.
