New Corvette Class Ships Expand Customization
Hello Games has launched a substantial update for No Man’s Sky, introducing the new Corvette class of ships. This update allows players to construct individual ship components, a feature reminiscent of the ship building in Starfield. While No Man’s Sky previously allowed cockpit, engine, and wing replacements at space stations, corvettes offer a significantly expanded range of modular customization options.
Corvettes are larger vessels, enabling players to explore the interiors of their ships for the first time, designing corridors and habitable cabins. Integrated crafting and cooking stations further enhance the onboard experience. To facilitate long journeys, an autopilot system has been added, allowing players to set a course for stations, planets, or missions while attending to other tasks.
Skyborn Suit and Community Expedition
The update also introduces the Skyborn suit, which allows players to venture into free space and view their ships from an external viewpoint. Alongside the new ship class and suit,a community expedition is available, offering exclusive rewards such as a companion mechanism.
Performance Enhancements and Visual Upgrades
Hello Games has focused on improving the game’s performance with this update, optimizing memory and CPU usage. The update includes support for NVIDIA DLSS 4, Intel XeSS 2, and Sony PSSR (on PlayStation 5) to enhance visual fidelity. Players can also now disable on-screen buttons on console versions of the game.
