Dettwiler’s Recovery and Repatriation
Swiss Moto3 rider Noah Dettwiler is scheduled to be transferred back to Switzerland following a serious accident during the inspection lap of the Moto3 grand Prix race in Sepang, Malaysia. Coordination with Swiss airline officials has cleared the way for his repatriation, according to a statement from his team.
Dettwiler,who rides for the French CIP green Power team,was able to leave the intensive care unit at a Kuala Lumpur hospital last Friday. He sustained meaningful injuries in the crash, including the removal of his spleen, intubation for lung support, and surgery to repair an open fracture in his leg.
Medical Transport Details
The CIP team announced on November 6, 2024, that Dettwiler’s condition had improved sufficiently for doctors in Kuala Lumpur to approve his transfer to Switzerland. A team from Swiss Air Rescue visited Dettwiler on Wednesday to finalize the medical transport plans.
The flight is scheduled for Thursday, november 6th, with an expected late-evening arrival in Zurich. Upon landing, Dettwiler will be promptly transported to a clinic for further surgery on his leg, followed by a comprehensive rehabilitation programme.
Family Support and gratitude
dettwiler’s parents and sister have been in Kuala Lumpur since October 27th, providing support. The family is also scheduled to return to Switzerland on Thursday.
