Finnish tech giant Nokia has secured a significant win in Europe’s cyber defense landscape. On Monday, the company announced it has been chosen by the London Internet Exchange (LINX) to bolster its protection against deadly Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks.
In a statement, Nokia revealed it will equip LINX, where over 850 internet players interconnect, with its ‘Nokia Deepfield’ solution. This technologie will help the exchange stay resilient against evolving DDoS threats, which aim to incapacitate servers by flooding them with requests or exploiting security vulnerabilities.
Rising threat levels are forcing network operators to beef up their defenses. According to a recent Nokia study, some operators are now detecting up to 100 DDoS attacks daily, compared to mere handfuls a few years ago. These attacks are often orchestrated by ‘bots’, automated software mimicking human behavior.
With the£ Deepfield’ solution, LINX will gain advanced DDoS mitigation capabilities, ensuring critical internet infrastructure remains accessible and secure.
