Regional Security and ‍Ukraine ​Support on the ⁤Agenda

On Wednesday, November 12, 2024, Latvian defense Minister Andris Sprūds will participate in a meeting of defense ministers from the Nordic​ and Baltic countries (NB8) in Helsinki, ⁢Finland. The NB8 format-comprising Denmark, Estonia, iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Finland, ​and Sweden-serves as a key platform for coordinating regional security and defense ‍policies.

Discussions will centre on the evolving regional security landscape and opportunities to enhance defense cooperation, wiht a particular focus on⁢ current NATO matters. A notable portion of the meeting will be dedicated to⁣ planning continued support for Ukraine.
