An’s Dry Cleaning Named best Independent Ice Cream Shop Again

for the second consecutive year, An’s Dry Cleaning in San Diego’s North park neighborhood has been crowned the best independent ice cream shop in the U.S. The honor, bestowed Wednesday, recognizes the shop’s unique approach to gelato and its commitment to quality.
Located at 3017 Adams Ave., the shop opened in 2018, taking its name from the dry cleaning business that previously occupied the space. An’s Dry Cleaning was also runner-up in 2023.
The shop stood out as the only West Coast representative on the list. Selections are determined by a panel of experts and then voted on by the public.
An’s Dry Cleaning’s gelato flavors are inspired by fabrics, such as taffeta and twill, a nod to the building’s history. The menu rotates, featuring flavors like mango and peaches, macadamia nut, and lavender with honey and oats.
To celebrate, An’s will offer $1 gelato on July 1 at its three locations: An’s Dry Cleaning, An’s Hatmakers in Del Mar, and An’s Electronics Repair in Ocean Beach. The offer is good while supplies last.
