North West Releases Debut Single, “Piercing on My Hand”
North West, the 12-year-old daughter of Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) and Kim Kardashian, has released her first official single, “Piercing on My Hand.” The track debuted on February 6th and marks a significant step for the young artist, who has previously appeared on songs with her father.
The song, produced by Ye and Will Frenchman, showcases North’s burgeoning rap skills and offers a glimpse into her teenage life. Lyrics include boasts about a lavish lifestyle, referencing shopping in Japan and a rebellious attitude towards school. “Piercing on my hand, the other holdin’ bands/No friends, just fans, you wouldn’t understand,” she raps on the chorus. “Shoppin’ in Japan, that’s where I always stand/Went to school for two days, then I got banned.”

During the show, Ye brought his daughter onstage to perform the new track in front of nearly 40,000 attendees. They also performed Ye’s song “Only One,” creating an emotional moment for the audience.

In January 2025, Ye shared a photo on Instagram of North seated at a keyboard, accompanied by a caption expressing his renewed passion for music inspired by his daughter. “This little girl made me love music again,” he wrote. “She asked me to make beats for her I got back on the ASR Chopped up beats for her album and chopped every beats with my bare hand for BULLY.”
The Mexico City concert marked Ye’s first performance in Latin America in nearly two decades, since his debut there in 2008. The show featured a setlist packed with his hits, including “Heartless,” “Can’t Tell Me Nothing,” and “N—s in Paris.” Ye began the performance dressed in a white tunic, accompanied by a group of men resembling monks.
