Pig Prices Today: September 20 Updates
Pig prices today, September 20, have seen a significant rise across all three regions in Vietnam, with the Northern region experiencing a sharp increase due to scarce supply following the floods.
In the North
The floods have led to a scarcity of supply in the Northern market, resulting in a price increase across the region. Notably, Vinh Phuc, Hanoi, Ninh Binh, and Tuyen Quang have recorded an increase of up to 3,000 VND/kg in the morning session of September 20.
As of now, the price of live pigs in Hanoi has reached 70,000 VND/kg, the highest in the country. The remaining provinces and cities in the region are purchasing at around 67,000 - 69,000 VND/kg.
In the Central Highlands Region
The Central Highlands market has seen an increase of 1,000 VND/kg in Thanh Hoa and Nghe An, reaching the same level of 67,000 VND/kg.
This increase has also been recorded in Ha Tinh and Khanh Hoa, reaching 65,000 VND/kg and 64,000 VND/kg, respectively. Quang Nam has increased by 2,000 VND/kg, reaching 65,000 VND/kg.
In the remaining localities, the price of live pigs remains stable at around 63,000 – 65,000 VND/kg.
In the Southern Region
In the Southern region, live pigs in Ho Chi Minh City are being traded at 65,000 VND/kg after an increase of 1,000 VND/kg. Soc Trang and Hau Giang have both reached 64,000 VND/kg.
Currently, the price of live pigs in this market is fluctuating between 63,000 – 65,000 VND/kg.
