Nottingham, England — British tennis junior Hannah Klugman experienced a setback ⁤in her⁤ first WTA main-draw match, falling to Yulia Putintseva at⁣ the Nottingham Open. The 16-year-old, who recently‍ finished as runner-up at the French open girls final in May, was defeated 6-2, 6-2 by Putintseva, the world’s No. 27 player, in ⁤the opening round.

Klugman, considered among britain’s most promising young talents, previously secured a ⁣win at the Orange Bowl junior⁢ championships in Florida at age 14. Though,Putintseva,who claimed the Birmingham⁢ Classic title on grass last year,proved a formidable opponent.
