Nouza/Rikl Clinch Kitzbühel Title; Arneodo/Guinard triumph in Umag
The ATP 250 doubles circuit saw Czech partners Petr Nouza and Patrik Rikl claim their second title of the season at the Generali Open in Kitzbühel, while Romain Arneodo and Manuel Guinard secured the crown at the Blue Croatia Open Umag.
in Kitzbühel, the Czech duo of Nouza and Rikl overcame a slow start to defeat Austrians Neil Oberleitner and Joel schwaerzler 1-6, 7-6(3), 10-5 in a hard-fought final. The victory marks their second ATP Tour title together, following their triumph in Marrakech earlier this year. Nouza and Rikl showcased their resilience, winning 78% of their first-serve points and clinching the decisive Match Tie-break after a challenging 84-minute encounter.
“It is amazing,” said Nouza after the match. “it has been a very tough week for us. A long week, but we made it work. All the way from the first round, there have been hard matches. Today especially. We didn’t start very well and the opponents were playing great but we turned it around at the end.We stick together and help each other.”
The Czech pair navigated a strong field en route to the title, defeating fourth seeds Ariel Behar and Joran Vliegen, as well as second seeds Francisco Cabral and Lucas Miedler.
Meanwhile, in Umag, fourth
