A new $50-million film studio is planned for Bauline, Newfoundland, a town overlooking Conception Bay.⁢ The project is spearheaded by a group ⁤including producers in the film industry, aiming to establish Newfoundland as a year-round film production hub.

Andrew Barnsley, one of the project’s key figures, stated the facility will be designed to support and expand film production in Newfoundland beyond its current seasonal limitations. He envisions the studio as a self-contained “mini community” capable of accommodating larger-scale productions.

The studio’s development is intended to position Newfoundland and Labrador as a competitive location for film and television production, attracting not only Canadian but also international investment and projects. This initiative seeks to capitalize on ⁢the province’s unique landscapes and growing film industry expertise.
