Novoo 120W GaN USB-C Charger Review: Best Value?

Novoo 120W GaN USB-C Charger Review: Best Value?

January 15, 2026 Lisa Park - Tech Editor Tech

For 16 euros, the Novoo 120W offers plenty of power, three ports and PPS. We show whether the bargain price has any drawbacks.

A 120W charger for ‍16 euros? That sounds almost too good to be true. The⁢ Novoo 120W⁢ GaN Fast Charger (NCEU120D-255C) proves that⁢ powerful charging technology ⁢doesn’t have to be expensive. With⁤ two USB-C ports and one USB-A connection, it covers manny ⁤application scenarios. Smartphones, tablets and even laptops can be operated with it.

The Chinese ‍manufacturer Novoo packs up to 100 W⁣ per USB-C port into a‌ compact housing. That is more ⁢than enough for most notebooks. The USB-A port‌ additionally delivers up to 22.5 W for older devices or accessories.

At the current ‍price of 16 Euro after deducting all Amazon ⁢coupons,⁢ the Novoo 120W is a real bargain. Comparable chargers often cost twice as much or more.We show in this test report whether the inexpensive power supply convinces in the ‌practical ⁢test.

The manufacturer provided us with the test device.

Equipment & Processing

‌ The Novoo 120W measures compact 64.4 x 66.3 x 32 mm. This makes it
pleasantly manageable for a 120W power supply. ‌The housing is made of
plastic in two colors: The front ‍around the connections is kept in⁢ a light
⁤ gray, the sides are colored black. The design is simple and functional –
no more,but also⁢ no less.

W supports an notable range of charging protocols. Available at the USB-C ports are power Delivery 3.0 ‍with up to 100⁣ W, PPS, Swift Charge 5.0 and Quick Charge 3.0. In addition, FCP, SCP, AFC, and SFCP are supported.

The specification of the USB-C ⁣ports is: 5 V at 3 A, 9 V at 3 A, ‌15 V at 3 A and 20 V at 5 A. ⁢A 12-V level ⁢is missing, though. This isn’t ⁤a problem for most devices, but anyone who owns hardware that explicitly requires 12 V should be ⁤aware⁢ of this.

100 W 5 V, 9 V, 15 V, 20 V 3 A (at 5-15⁢ V), 5 A (at 20 V) 3.3 V – 21 V⁢ /⁤ up to 5 A
22.5 W 5 V, 9 V, ⁤10 V, ⁤12 V 3 A, 2 ⁢A, 2.25 A, 1.5 A Not supported

Particularly pleasing: PPS support covers a range of 3.3 to 21 V at up⁤ to 5 A. The 21-V level‍ is rare and vital. Current flagship smartphones like the Pixel⁢ 10 pro XL require⁣ exactly this voltage with 2 A for maximum charging speed. This is where the affordable Novoo scores ‌points‍ over⁤ more expensive competition.

It’s a shame, however, ⁣that novoo doesn’t specify these technical details of PPS itself. We⁤ had to⁢ read the specification using a PD listener. This is a missed opportunity, ⁤because the good PPS ⁣range would have made⁤ the power ‍supply even ‍more attractive.

The USB-A port delivers up to 22.5 W and ‍supports Quick charge 3.0 with⁢ variable 3.6 to 20 V. FCP, SCP, AFC and SFCP are also on ‌board. Samsung devices charge at up to 2 A, Apple devices at 2.4 A.

USB-C 1 + USB-C 2 120 ⁤W C1: 60 W, ‌C2: 60 W
USB-C 1 / 2 + USB-A 120 W C1 ‍or C2: 100 W, A: 20 W
USB-C 1 ⁢+ C 2 + A 120 W C1: 100 W, ⁤C2: ⁤10 W, A: 10 W

Positive: Novoo transparently specifies the power distribution when using multiple ports. If you use both USB-C ports together, each delivers
