National Security advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval has lauded the success of India’s “operation Sindoor,” highlighting the significant role of indigenous technology in the swift and precise military action. Speaking at the 62nd convocation of IIT Madras, Doval revealed that the entire operation, which targeted nine terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), was completed in a remarkable 23 minutes.
Indigenous Prowess in Action
Doval emphasized the critical need for developing indigenous technology, drawing a direct parallel to the success of Operation Sindoor. “We have to develop our indigenous technology,” he stated, expressing immense pride in the “indigenous content” that underpinned the operation. He detailed how the mission involved striking nine terror targets strategically located within Pakistan, away from border areas, and affirmed that “We missed none. We hit nowhere else except that.”
The NSA further elaborated on the precision of the operation, noting, “It was precise to the point where we knew who was where. Entire operation took 23 minutes…” this level of accuracy, he suggested, was a testament to India’s growing technological capabilities.
Challenging Foreign Media Narratives
NSA Doval also took a strong stance against what he described as the “foreign media’s reportage” on Operation Sindoor. He challenged critics and foreign news outlets to provide any evidence of damage to Indian infrastructure, questioning thier claims of widespread destruction.
“foreign press said that Pakistan did that and this…You tell me one photograph, one image, which shows any damage to any Indian (structure), even a glass pane having been broken…” Doval remarked, as quoted by years. He pointed out that foreign media reports frequently enough relied on images of Pakistani airbases before and after the operation, such as those in Sargodha, Rahim Yar Khan, and Chaklala, to infer damage. Doval asserted, “We are capable of doing that (damage to Pakistani air bases)…”
Operation Sindoor: A Swift Retaliation
Operation Sindoor, launched by the Indian Armed Forces in the early hours of May 7th, was a direct military response to the terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22nd, which claimed the lives of 26 people. The operation successfully neutralized nine terror camps within Pakistan and PoK, resulting in the deaths of over 100 terrorists.
Following India’s decisive action, Pakistan attempted to retaliate with drones, but these efforts were unsuccessful in hitting Indian targets. An understanding to cease all military actions was reached on May 10th, marking a de-escalation of tensions. The success of Operation Sindoor underscores India’s resolve to counter terrorism and its increasing capability in executing complex, precise military operations with a strong reliance on its own technological advancements.
