A Dominican Republic fugitive, Luis Francisco Soriano, 31, wanted in connection with the massacre of a family of four in upstate New York, was apprehended Wednesday by U.S. Marshals in the Dominican republic. The suspect in the New York family massacre faces multiple charges.
soriano is accused of killing Fraime Ubaldo,30; Marangely Moreno Santiago,26; Evangeline Ubaldo Moreno,4; and Sebastian Ubaldo Moreno,2,at their Irondequoit,N.Y., home on Aug. 31, 2024. The residence was than set ablaze, according to authorities.
Wilmer Ocasio-Ibarra, U.S. Marshal for the District of Puerto Rico, emphasized the importance of the case. The horrific nature of this crime, which resulted in the tragic death of a family, including two innocent children, rocked the very foundation of our society governed by law and order,” Ocasio-Ibarra said.
soriano initially fled to Puerto Rico before arriving in the Dominican Republic.he was arrested outside a call center in punta Cana where he worked, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
Authorities allege that Soriano committed the crime with the assistance of his brother,Julio Soriano,34,who was arrested a week after the attack.Reports indicate the crime targeted a cousin of the Sorianos.
Soriano faces four counts of second-degree murder, as well as narcotics charges. He will remain in custody in the dominican Republic pending extradition proceedings, according to fox News.
