The Attack and the Victims
According to authorities, the gunman, identified as Tamura, exited a double-parked BMW carrying an M4 rifle. Surveillance video captured him walking toward the building and promptly opening fire on an NYPD officer as he entered. The shooter then fired upon a woman attempting to take cover and proceeded to “spray” the lobby with gunfire. he then made his way to the elevator bank, where he shot a security guard taking cover behind a desk and another man in the lobby.
Tamura then took the elevator to the 33rd floor, where he entered a real estate management company. He shot and killed one person on that floor before walking down a hallway and fatally shooting himself.
