NYU Langone Health, based in New York City, celebrated a major milestone, having raised over $5.5 billion in donor support over the past 18 years. The achievement was recognized at its annual Violet Ball on June 3.

Effective Sept.1, Alec Kimmelman, MD, PhD, will become the next CEO and dean of NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Kimmelman, a researcher and radiation oncologist, joined NYU Langone in 2016 and most recently directed the Laura and Isaac Perlmutter Cancer Center. He succeeds Robert Grossman, MD, who is retiring.
