The announcement was revealed live on ABC and Disney+ during a themed episode of American Idol, presented by Ryan Seacrest and 2022 inductee Lionel Richie.
The 2026 Induction Ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, November 14, 2026, in Los Angeles, California. The proceedings will debut on Disney+ and ABC in December.
The Performer Category
The Performer category is reserved for artists who have created music whose originality, impact, and influence have changed the course of rock and roll. The 2026 class includes the following artists:
- Oasis
- Phil Collins
- Sade
- Wu-Tang Clan
- Iron Maiden
- Billy Idol
- Joy Division/New Order
- Luther Vandross
The foundation noted a distinction between those who have been nominated previously and those receiving their first nomination. Phil Collins, Luther Vandross, and Wu-Tang Clan are first-time nominees.
Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, Oasis, and Sade have all been nominated for induction in previous years.

Induction Standards and Leadership
To be eligible for induction, an individual artist or band must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination.
