Oasis Reunion Tour: Liam Gallagher Reveals Cancer Diagnosis
Oasis Guitarist bonehead Pauses Tour for Prostate Cancer Treatment
Oasis guitarist Paul “Bonehead” arthurs is temporarily stepping away from the band’s reunion tour to continue his cancer treatment. He was previously given the all-clear from tonsil cancer in 2022, but recently received a diagnosis of prostate cancer earlier this year.
Bonehead will miss upcoming shows in Seoul, Tokyo, Melbourne, and Sydney to focus on “the next phase of [his] care.” He expressed sadness at missing the gigs but remains optimistic, stating he is “feeling good” and expects to rejoin the tour in South America in November.
In a statement, he said: “Early this year I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. The good news is I’m responding realy well to treatment, which meant I could be part of this astonishing tour. Now, I am having to take a planned break for the next phase of my care, so l’ll be missing the gigs in Seoul, Tokyo, Melbourne and Sydney. I’m really sad to be missing these shows but l’m feeling good and will be back ready to go in time for South America. Have an amazing time if you’re going this month and I’ll see you back onstage with the band in November.”
Bonehead was an original and founding member of Oasis, playing on their first three albums before leaving in 1999. He has as regularly performed with Liam Gallagher and has been praised for adding “real heft and power” to the sound of the current reunion lineup.
Noel Gallagher previously credited Bonehead with being instrumental in the band’s reunion,stating,”If it wasn’t for him,none of this would have happened.”
The reunion tour, which includes Gem Archer, Andy Bell, and Joey Waronker, recently concluded its UK leg with two shows at Wembley Stadium, where Liam Gallagher hinted at further shows in 2026.
