Obituary for Larry: Edward Catholic Cemetery, Minneota

Lawrence “Larry” DeSmet, 83, of Ghent, Minnesota, died on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the Sanford Hospice Foundation Cottage in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

A Mass of Christian Burial for DeSmet will be held at 10:00 a.m. On Saturday, April 25, 2026, at St. Edward Catholic Church in Minneota, Minnesota.

Visitation will take place on Friday, April 24, from 4:00 p.m. To 6:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 6:00 p.m., at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Minneota. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. To 9:30 a.m. At the same location.

Interment will follow the funeral service at St. Edward Catholic Cemetery in Minneota.

DeSmet was born on February 12, 1943, and resided in Ghent at the time of his death.
