Rosemarie “Ro” Clark: An Obituary
Rosemarie “Ro” Clark, 81, of Wethersfield, passed away on November 14, 2024, surrounded by her family. Ro was known for her vibrant spirit and determination. She was predeceased by her husband, James J. Clark, after 58 years of marriage.
Ro was born in Queens, NY, to Benjamin and Camille (Esposito) Lupo. She graduated high school and became a Registered Nurse. Her nursing career began in New York and later took her to Hartford Hospital in Connecticut. She specialized in elder care, working at Mediplex of Wethersfield and later opening a facility in Newington as the Director of Nursing. Ro earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees along with her Administrator’s license. She became an expert in her field and worked with National Healthcare Associates as the Administrator of Norwichtown Rehab and New London Rehab and Care Centers. Ro also established a consulting business to help healthcare facilities meet state standards.
Ro raised three children in Newington alongside Jim. Their family created many happy memories, especially during annual trips to New Hampshire for puzzles, fishing, and boat rides. They built their dream home on a lake in Woodstock, CT, where they enjoyed over 30 years together. In retirement, Ro liked watching UConn basketball, caring for her Yorkies, Lily and Charlie, and hosting Sunday dinners for her family.
Ro is survived by her children: Catherine Comeau, James Clark, and Trish Melville, and her grandchildren: Benjamin, Max, Molly, and Hannah. She had a close friendship with Helena Viera.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ro’s life on November 20th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, Newington, CT. A prayer service will follow at 11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest with James in West Meadow Cemetery. A luncheon will take place after the services. Donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her memory.
