Odegaard’s Ankle Agony: Star Midfielder Sidelined from Arsenal Action
Martin Odegaard Sidelined with Ankle Injury
Arsenal’s Norwegian captain, Martin Odegaard, will be out of action for an undetermined period due to an ankle injury, confirmed by coach Mikel Arteta.
Arteta shared the news with reporters ahead of Arsenal’s Champions League opener against Atalanta, stating, “After conducting all the necessary tests, we found damage to a ligament in the ankle. We will miss him for a while, but I hope his absence won’t be for months.”
Odegaard sustained the injury during Norway’s European Nations League match against Austria earlier this month. Initially, the team doctor expected him to be out for less than three weeks, which would have caused him to miss Arsenal’s upcoming clash with Manchester City.
Arsenal currently sits second in the league with ten points, trailing defending champions Manchester City by two points after the opening four rounds.
