Odermatt Second Fastest in Val Gardena Downhill Training

Val Gardena, Italy – Swiss skier Marco Odermatt narrowly missed the top spot in ⁣the frist downhill training session at Val Gardena, finishing just‍ 0.44 seconds behind Italian ‍Mattia ⁤Casse.

Casse, skiing on ⁤home turf, set a blistering pace on the saslong course, edging out⁤ Odermatt and the rest⁢ of the field. ⁤ ‍Veteran Italian Christof ⁣Innerhofer, defying recent struggles, surprised many by⁣ securing fourth place, just ahead of French skier Cyprien Sarrazin. German⁢ Romed Baumann rounded out the top three.

While Odermatt showed strong form, other swiss skiers struggled to keep pace on the challenging course. Stefan Rogentin was the ‍next best Swiss finisher,clocking⁤ in‍ at seventh. Alexis Monney and Franjo von Allmen⁣ managed to secure spots within the top 30, finishing 21st and 29th respectively.

Gaël Zulauf, hoping for his first World Cup start ‍this weekend, put in a solid performance, finishing 33rd and bolstering his chances for⁢ selection. ⁢He’s vying for a spot⁤ alongside fellow Swiss skiers Josua mettler (55th), alessio Miggiano (67th), and Christophe Torrent ‍(68th).

Justin Murisier, the current downhill leader after his impressive win at beaver Creek ten days ago,⁣ had a disappointing run, finishing⁢ 52nd.

Odermatt Plays Catch-up as Casse dazzles in val Gardena Downhill Training

Val Gardena, Italy – Swiss star Marco Odermatt had to settle for second best in the first downhill ⁣training session at ⁢Val Gardena, trailing Italian Mattia Casse by a slim margin of 0.44 seconds.

Casse, buoyed by the home crowd,⁤ set a ⁢scorching pace on the Saslong course, leaving Odermatt and the rest of the field in his wake. Veteran Italian Christof Innerhofer, defying recent form, surprised onlookers by securing fourth place, just ahead of Frenchman Cyprien Sarrazin. German Romed Baumann rounded out the top three.
