Odoo Partners with Singapore Management University to Enhance Business Software Education

Odoo has partnered with The School of Computing and Information Systems (SCIS) at Singapore Management University. They signed a memorandum of understanding to prepare students for using business software. The partnership includes interactive workshops.

Rafael J. Barros, a senior lecturer at SCIS, introduced Odoo to 400 undergraduate students during the Enterprise Solution Management module. The students explored IT service management processes, including handling service requests and incidents.

On July 10, Ivan Kwok, the Odoo Education Officer, delivered a lecture for students in SMU’s Global Summer Programme. He discussed the importance of customer relationship management and effective methods for addressing inquiries and ensuring customer satisfaction.

In workshops, students saw how Odoo helps businesses in Europe, Australia, and South Korea improve workflows and make data-driven decisions. Kwok expressed excitement about collaborating with SCIS and mentioned that students could use Odoo Online for their business projects, allowing them to apply classroom learning.

The partnership provides students and faculty free access to training materials and lectures on Odoo Online applications to support their academic work. Swapna Gottipati, an associate professor at SCIS, emphasized that integrating Odoo into the curriculum connects theory with practical skills, preparing students for future careers.

The Odoo Education Program offers interactive workshops and 24 months of unlimited access to Odoo Online, with various official and third-party applications. Odoo helps manage finance, sales, inventory, human resources, and more.
