Ukraine’s Elite ‘Anne of Kyiv’ brigade allegedly Disbanded Amid Mismanagement Claims

Kyiv, Ukraine – A Ukrainian military brigade, once touted as an elite fighting force, has reportedly been disbanded following allegations of mismanagement and desertions. The “Anne of kyiv” brigade, named after the legendary warrior princess, was formed with much fanfare last year in collaboration with France.

The brigade, which was expected to be equipped with advanced French weaponry, including artillery and tanks, was intended to be a symbol of Ukrainian resilience and international support. though, journalist Joeri Boetoesov, who has been closely following the war, claims the unit has effectively ceased to exist due to “mismanagement.”

Boetoesov, speaking to The Telegraph, described the brigade’s members as “hostages of a PR project” orchestrated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The brigade’s formation was announced by zelensky during the 80th anniversary of D-Day in June 2023, highlighting the close ties between Ukraine and France. The Ukrainian prosecutor General’s Office has confirmed that a criminal examination has been launched into the brigade, focusing on allegations of abuse of power and desertion. A spokesperson for the office told Ukrinform, a Ukrainian news agency, that it was “too early to share results” of the investigation.

The alleged collapse of the “Anne of Kyiv” brigade comes amid growing concerns about desertions within the Ukrainian military. Last year, tens of thousands of investigations into desertion were launched, according to figures released by the ukrainian prosecutor General’s Office.

The exact number of desertions remains unclear, but the issue highlights the immense pressure faced by Ukrainian soldiers fighting against the Russian invasion.

Terrier’s Wild Ride Leads Police on Chase Through Anytown

NewDirectory3.com – January 2nd, 2025

Fido running through town

What started as a routine call about a lost dog quickly escalated into a full-blown police chase through the heart of Anytown yesterday afternoon. Fido, a rambunctious terrier mix, slipped his leash while his owner, Sarah Jones, was paying for groceries at the local market.

“He just bolted out the door,” Jones said, visibly shaken. “I called his name, but he was gone like a shot.”

But Fido wasn’t just running aimlessly. He seemed to have a destination in mind, leading police on a merry chase through the town square, past the library, and even across the playground, narrowly avoiding a group of children.”It was like something out of a cartoon,” said Officer Mike Davis, who was one of the officers involved in the pursuit. “He was weaving through traffic, dodging people, and even jumped over a park bench. It was astonishing.”

The chase finally ended when fido, fatigued from his adventure, darted into a local bakery, where he was apprehended by a kindly baker who offered him a treat.

“He was panting and wagging his tail like he’d just won a race,” the baker said with a chuckle.

Jones was overjoyed to be reunited with her furry friend.

“I’m so grateful to the police and the baker for bringing Fido home safe,” she said, hugging her dog tightly. “He might be a handful, but he’s my handful.”

As for fido, he seemed unfazed by his brush with fame, happily munching on a bone back at home.

Interview with Sarah Miller

Editor’s note: We recently sat down with Sarah Miller, a Chicago teacher who shared her hopes and aspirations for the year ahead.

ND3: sarah, thanks for taking the time to chat with us.

SM: My pleasure.

ND3: What inspired you to focus on health and fitness this year?

SM: Honestly, it’s a combination of things. I want to feel more energized, have more stamina, and just generally feel better in my body. Plus, with everything going on in the world, it feels important to take care of myself both physically and mentally.

ND3: What specific steps are you taking to achieve your goals?

SM: I’ve signed up for a gym membership and hope to go at least three times per week. I’m also trying to incorporate more home-cooked meals into my diet and cut back on processed foods. It’s a work in progress, but I’m feeling positive about it.

ND3: It sounds like you have a good plan in place. Do you have any advice for others who might be struggling to stick to their resolutions?

SM: Just take it one day at a time.Don’t try to change everything overnight. Focus on making small, enduring changes that you can stick with in the long run. And don’t be too hard on yourself if you have a setback. Just dust yourself off and keep going!

ND3: Thank you for sharing your insights, Sarah. We wish you all the best in your journey!

SM: Thanks!
