Ohio Husband’s 911 Call Released After Wife’s Shooting Death | Caleb Flynn Charged with Murder

Ohio Man Charged with Murder After 911 Call Described Frantic Scene

TIPP CITY, Ohio – Caleb Flynn, 39, has been charged with the murder of his wife, 37-year-old Ashley Flynn, after calling 911 early Monday morning to report a break-in and shooting at their Tipp City home. The Miami County Prosecutor’s Office released the full 911 call on Friday, revealing a frantic and increasingly distressed conversation between Flynn and the emergency dispatcher.

According to police, Ashley Flynn was found dead at the scene. Their two daughters were reportedly asleep in their rooms at the time of the shooting and were unharmed.

The 911 call, lasting nearly eight minutes, begins with Caleb Flynn stating that someone had broken into their home and shot his wife. When asked by the dispatcher if the intruder was still inside, he responded, “I don’t know, I don’t know.”

Flynn’s voice is described as panicked and hysterical throughout the call. He repeatedly urged the dispatcher to hurry, then detailed the horrific scene he discovered. “My wife, she’s, she’s got two shots to her head. There’s blood everywhere. Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God,” he said, according to the released audio.

He further told the dispatcher that the garage door was “wide open” and informed them that his daughters were in the house. When asked about his wife’s location, he replied, “She’s in the bed.” He stated he had been with his daughters when the shooting occurred and that they were asleep.

As the call continued, Flynn expressed increasing desperation. “Her face is… also, her face is white as a ghost. Please, please,” he pleaded. He then questioned whether his wife was still breathing, ultimately concluding, “Ashley, Ashley baby, baby please. Oh, my God there… no, she’s not.”

Flynn told the dispatcher he hadn’t seen any vehicles and noted the side door leading from outside into the garage was open. He was then instructed to apply pressure to the gunshot wounds and check on his children.

Investigators now believe the scene was staged. The Tipp City Police Department announced Caleb Flynn’s arrest on Thursday evening, charging him with one count of murder, two counts of felonious assault and two counts of tampering with evidence.

Flynn pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Friday morning. Bond was set at $2 million. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 26th at 1 p.m.

Ashley Flynn was a teacher and volleyball coach in the Tipp City area. The case remains under investigation.
