Los Angeles – Shohei Ohtani ended his longest home run drought of the season in dramatic fashion Saturday, hitting two home runs to power the Los Angeles Dodgers to an 11-5 victory over the San Francisco Giants. The win evened the series, with both teams now vying for the top spot in the National League West.
Ohtani’s power surge came against Giants right-handers Landen Roupp and Tristan Beck. His first homer came in the first inning, providing an early lead for the Dodgers. The second followed in the sixth. “It did feel like I haven’t hit a homer in a while,” ohtani said through an interpreter, adding that the first home run felt more notable because it scored early in the game.
Clayton Kershaw delivered a dominant performance on the mound, pitching seven scoreless innings. The Giants, facing an 11-0 deficit, rallied in the ninth against Dodgers’ position player Enrique Hernandez, who was pitching in a mop-up role.
