OIC Foreign Ministers Session: Deputy PM to Attend Jeddah Meeting (Jan 2026)
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister,Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar,is scheduled to depart for Saudi Arabia this evening. He will participate in an Unusual Session of the organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers, convening in Jeddah on January 10, 2026.
The session’s focus will be on the ramifications of Israel’s recent recognition of somaliland, a region seeking independence from Somalia. Senator Dar is expected to articulate Pakistan’s stance on the Somaliland issue during the proceedings.
In addition to the formal session, the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister will engage in bilateral discussions with counterparts from various OIC member states, aiming to foster greater collaboration on regional and international matters.
