Celebrations erupted in Oklahoma City‍ after the OKC Thunder clinched the NBA Championship. However, the festivities were marred by a shooting a few ⁢blocks from the arena,⁢ near Scissortail Park.

A FOX 25 crew was preparing ‍for a live broadcast when shots rang out. The incident occurred on the east side of Scissortail Park, according to the station.

One person was shot following a fight, according to an oklahoma City ⁢police Department⁣ spokesperson. The spokesperson added the incident “was⁤ unrelated ⁢to anything involving ⁢the game.”

The OCPD ‍reported the shooting victim is expected to ⁤recover. “For the most part,” the spokesperson added, “it was a ⁤peaceful night.”

Social media videos appeared ⁢to support the police assessment, showing mostly well-behaved fans. Though, some fans launched⁢ fireworks throughout the city, and one individual was seen climbing a light pole outside the arena.
