Oliver Frid Produces New Album My Lover

Claire Rosinkranz has expanded her discography with the release of her new album, My Lover, distributed via 10K Projects and Atlantic Records. The project marks a thematic shift for the California-based singer-songwriter, focusing on emotional evolution and personal growth following her 2023 debut album, Just Because.

The album was helmed by producer Oliver Frid, a collaborator known for his work with high-profile pop artists including Ariana Grande and Dua Lipa. In addition to Frid’s production, Rosinkranz collaborated closely with her father, Ragnar Rósinkranz. An Icelandic composer, Ragnar handled co-production across the record’s 13 songs.

Thematic Depth and ‘Just A Man’

Alongside the album, Rosinkranz has released the track Just A Man. The song serves as a vehicle for the artist to challenge the concept of performative strength, moving away from the curated image of resilience to explore more honest, vulnerable territory.

This focus on authenticity is a recurring thread throughout My Lover. Rosinkranz has described the project as an exploration of the death moments and the wilting that occur during periods of hardship, asserting that these experiences are necessary for growth.

A lot of this project is about that: being with the ‘death’ moments, the wilting, and realizing they still produce life. That doesn’t mean you abandon the process. I look back at my illness, breakups, loss, and I always feel like I gained life or growth, but you can’t skip the hard part either.

Evolution from ‘Just Because’

Rosinkranz first gained significant industry attention through her 2020 viral hit Backyard Boy, which eventually amassed over one billion streams. That momentum led to her debut full-length album, Just Because, released on October 6, 2023. While her debut was characterized by a wide array of collaborators, My Lover represents a more streamlined creative process centered on her relationship with her father and Oliver Frid.

The new album includes several previously released singles that set the stage for the project’s sonic direction, including Lucy, Jayden, Dancer, and Chronic.

Industry critics have noted that the record’s melodic runs and phrasing reflect a maturation in her songwriting, distancing her from the early viral success of her teens and positioning her as a more established figure in the alt-pop landscape.

Touring and Promotion

To support the release of My Lover, Rosinkranz scheduled a headlining tour beginning in April 2026. The promotional rollout for the album also included a series of high-profile appearances, including a visit to New York for photo shoots and a performance on the Today show.
