Glasner Urges fans to Disregard Transfer Speculation Surrounding Key Players
Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has advised supporters to be skeptical of transfer rumors circulating regarding star players Marc Guéhi and Eberechi Eze.Both players have been subject to intense speculation this summer, wiht Eze linked to Arsenal and Tottenham, and Guéhi attracting interest from Liverpool.
Despite the ongoing uncertainty, both Guéhi and eze started in Palace’s opening Premier League match against Chelsea, a game that ended in a 0-0 draw. A stunning free-kick from Eze was disallowed due to Guéhi’s encroachment on the Chelsea wall.
Glasner emphasized that as long as Eze remains a crystal Palace player, he will continue to feature for the club. “Eberechi Eze, as much as I know has a contract with crystal Palace, he is a Crystal Palace player,” Glasner stated.”He showed it today and as long as he is a Crystal Palace player and he performs like this, he will play for us.”
The situation adds complexity to a period of transition for Palace, who recently celebrated an FA cup victory thanks to a goal from Eze, but will now compete in the Conference League after an appeal regarding Europa League qualification was unsuccessful. The team began the season with a positive result, securing a draw at stamford Bridge and previously winning the Community shield.
