Olivia Dean has achieved a major milestone in her music career, with her song “Man I Need” surpassing one billion streams on Spotify, securing her place in the platform’s Billions Club.
The British pop star reached this achievement less than a year after the track’s release on August 15, 2025, as the third single from her second album, The Art of Loving. The song was written by Dean alongside Tobias Jesso Jr. And Zach Nahome, and produced by Nahome.
“Man I Need” has become a global hit, topping charts in multiple countries including Australia, Canada, Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Belgium’s Flanders region, and Iceland. In Australia, it spent 20 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the ARIA Chart, making it the second-longest reigning single in the nation’s chart history, behind only Tones and I’s “Dance Monkey” with 24 weeks at the top.
In the United Kingdom, Dean made history as the first female solo artist in Official Charts history to have four songs in the top 10 simultaneously, achieved last October with “Man I Need” at No. 1, along with “So Easy (To Fall in Love),” “Nice To Each Other,” and her collaboration with Sam Fender, “Rein Me In.”
In the United States, “Man I Need” marked Dean’s first Billboard Hot 100 top 10 entry, peaking at No. 2, and earlier this month she was crowned on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart with the song, recognizing it as the most-played track on panel-contributing adult R&B radio stations.
The song’s success has contributed to a series of accolades for Dean in 2026. She was named Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards, swept the BRIT Awards with four wins including Artist of the Year and Album of the Year for The Art of Loving, and earned a hattrick of honors at the MOBO Awards, where “Man I Need” won Song of the Year.
Dean is also recognized as the female artist with the biggest increase in global streams on Spotify over the past year and performed her signature song at the Spotify Best New Artist party during Grammy Week. She was named Rookie of the Year for Billboard’s 2025 Greatest Pop Stars series.
Looking ahead, Dean is a frontrunner at the upcoming 71st Ivor Novello Awards, set for May 21 in London, with nominations in the best album and The PRS for Music most performed work categories.
“Man I Need” has now been added to Spotify’s Billions Club playlist, which currently includes 1,255 songs.
