Prevalle, Italy – Omb Saleri, a leading Italian manufacturer of valves and safety devices, has been acquired by Findos Investor GmbH, a German investment fund based in Munich. The deal sees Findos Investor acquire a 70% stake in the company, with the remaining 30% retained by the saleri family.
The financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed. However, Findos Investor purchased 30% of Omb Saleri’s shares previously held by Dea Capital, a fund, and an additional 40% directly from the Saleri family.
This acquisition marks Findos Investor’s entry into the Italian market. The fund already boasts investments in over 30 companies across Germany,Croatia,Denmark,Norway,and Switzerland.
From Humble Beginnings to Global Player
Founded in 1980 as officina Meccanica Bresciani in Prevalle, Omb Saleri initially specialized in the production of metal fasteners, brass nuts, and gas shut-off valves for domestic use. Over time, the company expanded its product portfolio and in 1992, it was renamed Omb Saleri Ventilgas srl.In 1998, Omb saleri became a publicly traded company and further diversified its offerings. The company entered the automotive CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) market in 2001 and the hydrogen sector in 2013.
Today, Omb Saleri is recognized as a global leader in eco-amiable automotive technology and a model of participatory manufacturing. The company is divided into five business units: Hydrogen, Automotive, Domestic Applications, Metal Machining, and Aerospace & Cryogenics.
Omb Saleri closed 2023 with a turnover of nearly €66 million and employs 266 people.
