OMC Foundation Donates $31K to Pediatrics Clinic and Secures $150K in Scholarships
OMC Foundation Supports Pediatrics Clinic and Scholarships
The OMC Foundation donated $31,000 to the Olympic Medical Center Pediatrics Clinic on November 20. The foundation also received two significant contributions for its scholarship program: $100,000 from George Brown and $50,000 from Margery Whites.
Bruce Skinner, the Executive Director of the OMC Foundation, highlighted the importance of these scholarships. They aim to increase the number of healthcare workers in Clallam County. Current OMC employees and others can use these funds to further their education and pursue medical careers at Peninsula College and other institutions.
At the meeting, Skinner recognized 14 recent scholarship recipients. He stated, “One of the biggest obstacles for those entering or advancing in healthcare is the cost. We want to remove that barrier. This is one of the most satisfying things the Foundation has ever done.”
The foundation launched this program in collaboration with OMC to expand the pool of potential employees. Growing the workforce is a significant challenge in the healthcare industry today.
