Samsung Galaxy S25: One UI 8 Beta Program Details Emerge
Updated May 27, 2025
The Galaxy S25 is poised to be among the first Samsung devices to receive the One UI 8 update, based on android 16. This update marks the beginning of seven major OS upgrades for the series. Before the official release, Samsung plans to conduct its annual One UI beta program, allowing users in select markets to test the new software.
The Galaxy S25 series includes the S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, and S25 Edge. A fifth model, the Galaxy S25 FE, is expected later this year. However, the S25 FE will ship with One UI 8 already installed, making it ineligible for the beta program.
Samsung has traditionally limited One UI beta program access to the base, Plus, and Ultra models of its Galaxy S series. This pattern suggests that the Galaxy S25 Edge may not be included in the initial One UI 8 beta. As of May 26, no beta firmware for the edge model exists, further supporting this assumption.
What’s next
